A conscious approach to candle production
Candle production, like any industrial activity, has an impact on the environment. That is why at K.C.B. INTERLIGHT we identify and monitor selected environmental aspects related to our operations and take measures aimed at reducing specific impacts.
These measures relate, amongst other things, to the selection of raw materials, waste management, energy and water consumption, emissions associated with production processes, and the packaging solutions we use.
When developing our products, we focus on their quality, safety in use, performance characteristics and the possibility of utilising various types of raw materials, including plant-based materials and beeswax.
We strive for the systematic improvement of our production and environmental processes, basing our actions on available data, applicable requirements and technological capabilities.
What is in our candles?
Depending on the type of product, we use different raw materials and components. Information on the composition always refers to a specific product.
Beeswax
In selected candles, we use beeswax, which is of natural origin and is characterised by its distinctive colour and scent, as well as properties suitable for candle production.
Our range also includes products made from 100 per cent beeswax.
RSPO-certified palm oil
In selected products, we use raw materials derived from palm oil that are covered by the relevant RSPO certification scheme.
The RSPO scheme sets out requirements for the production and supply chain of certified palm oil. Information on the certification model used and the scope of the certificate always relates to a specific raw material or product.
Rapeseed oil
In selected products, we use raw materials derived from rapeseed oil. This is a plant-based raw material used in candle production due to its technological and functional properties.
Fragrance compositions
In scented candles, we use compositions selected for their fragrance properties, quality and compliance with the requirements applicable to the product in question.
Finished products are assessed against the relevant classification and labelling requirements, including the provisions of the CLP Regulation.
Wicks
Depending on the product, we use, amongst others, cotton and wooden wicks. Their type and specifications are selected to suit the composition and properties of the specific candle.
Production process and environmental measures
As part of our environmental management system, we monitor selected aspects related to our production activities.
Our activities include, amongst other things:
- monitoring energy and water consumption,
- managing production waste,
- monitoring emissions associated with our operations,
- analysing the potential for reusing specific production residues,
- using selected raw materials covered by certification schemes,
- improving and automating production processes.
Wax residues generated during specific production processes may be reused, provided that technological and quality requirements permit this.
We also take specific environmental and social criteria into account when selecting and assessing suppliers.
Packaging
Depending on the product, we use various types of packaging, including glass packaging and packaging and labels made from paper-based materials.
Glass
We use glass packaging for selected products.
Glass can be recycled through appropriate collection and processing schemes. Once the candle has been used up, the glass packaging can also be reused by the consumer, provided its condition and intended use allow for this.
We encourage you to sort packaging correctly in accordance with local waste management regulations.
FSC-certified materials
For packaging and labels, we use materials covered by the FSC certification scheme.
The FSC label on a specific product indicates its status within the FSC certification scheme. The type of label used – FSC Mix or FSC Recycled – depends on the type of material and the relevant chain of custody.
The FSC information applies exclusively to products or packaging components bearing the relevant label.
Green Dot
Selected packaging may bear the ‘Green Dot’ trademark.
This mark indicates that, in respect of the packaging in question, a financial contribution has been made to the relevant national packaging recovery scheme, in accordance with the rules governing the Green Dot scheme.
The ‘Green Dot’ mark does not in itself mean that the packaging is made from recycled material, nor that the packaging in question will be recycled.

Our aim is to systematically improve our production, quality and environmental processes.
We monitor selected environmental aspects related to our operations and analyse opportunities to reduce specific impacts wherever technological, organisational and quality conditions permit.
We are committed to transparent communication regarding the raw materials we use, our processes and our certifications. We relate environmental information to the specific products, materials or activities to which it actually applies.
We want our customers to be able to make decisions based on clear and verifiable information about our products.
